Use the time for a short lakeside walk near your accommodation, birdwatching, or relaxing on a dock if you’re staying at a lakeside resort. In winter, enjoy the quiet scenery and watch for wildlife from safe viewpoints. Because services are limited, bring snacks and water, and confirm return transport to the airport in advance.

With 8 hours, you can see a bit of the West Chilcotin wilderness. Pre-arrange a transfer from YAA with your lodge or a local operator. Head to a lakeside resort such as Eagle’s Nest Resort or Red Cariboo Resort for a meal and a walk along Anahim Lake’s shoreline.
